Cassie Derr - The Cass in Cass & Co.

It’s pretty clear that I am the Cass in Cass & Co. but here’s a little more about me!

I have been a pet sitter full-time and professionally for just over five years. Before I started pet sitting full-time, I was a receptionist, which means that I am detail oriented and that blends perfectly in this job where every detail counts. Throughout the years of doing this job I have gained so many people in my life that now feel like family and your pets truly do feel like mine. One thing that I have prided myself on over the years is my ability to work with, and gain the trust of dogs that either have an abusive past, or were under socialized. My two dogs are rescues both from abusive situations. I’ve put my entire heart and soul into ensuring that every one of my clients gets the best care that I can possibly get to them, and to make sure that there is no one that you would trust more to leave your animals with.

I said a little bit about my two dogs, but I would like to introduce my fur family. The oldest addition to my fur family was rescued in April 2020. She came to me from Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control where she chose me. I went in and she immediately reacted to me in a way that she had not reacted to anyone else. She came up and immediately let me pet her and then I brought her home. Her name is Blu and she is a Doberman Husky mix. Second off is Pierre. He is one of the sweetest cats he will ever meet. I was out at one of my clients houses and he walked up to me and jumped into my car. I tried to see if he had a home and he did not so I took him in and I’ve had him since December 2021 and third, but certainly not least is Winnie, she came to me out of a situation where she was tied up and abused for the first seven months of her life. She is now almost a year and doing great. She is slowly gaining her confidence and loving every minute of it, and of course, being spoiled!

This is just a small look into my life, and I hope that that allows just a little bit more comfort in reaching out to a stranger about watching your sweet babies!
